Buska Lodge is the latest addition to southern Ethiopia’s famed cultural tourism circuit. Opened in 2009, Buska Lodge is the result of a global consumer demand for an elevated level of accommodations in this part of Ethiopia, and was developed with a keen eye on what international travelers are looking for in Africa today.

The lodge currently employs 38 staff members who all have received extensive training in hotel management at a global level. The Buska Lodge staff, many of whom were born and raised in this region of Ethiopia, pride themselves on this new lodge and seek to consistently provide outstanding client service. Employees come from the surrounding communities and the lodge supports capacity building and travel industry training as part of lodge operations.

Buska Lodge has launched an innovative training program as well, to help raise the tourism capacity of the surrounding community, by selecting local community members to attend school and receive tourism training followed by employment in the lodge.
